'Kasumi Todoh was taught martial arts by her father, Ryukahu Todoh. When he he didn't return from settling an old score South Town for months, Kasumi investigated, and found he had been defeated by his rival Takuma Sakazaki's son, Ryo. She goes to challenge Ryo, but makes peace with him.
She is later invited to join the King of Fighters tournament by the Ladies' Team, which she gladly accepts.
